What puts many people off is the thought of endless bureaucracy and the leap into the unknown. And when someone takes the decision to put their idea into practice, they often don’t know how or where to start: “Where do I go to register my business?”

Fortunately, Unternehmensservice Bremen has the answers to these questions – they are your companion on the path towards self-employment. They will help you to deal with official approval procedures, forms and funding for business start-ups and entrepreneurs. And all in one place: the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Chamber of Skilled Trades, business consultancy RKW, Bremen and Bremerhaven’s development bank BAB, and Bremeninvest are all under one roof in the centre of Bremen, ready to answer your questions on services, subsidies and business start-ups. They make it easy for you to cut through the red tape.

Got the right idea, but the concept is not quite ready? Speak to our experts in person about the plans for your company and receive answers to your business management questions and help with your business plan.

2. Less time spent on bureaucracy

You can register, deregister and change the details of your business with us. Acting as a single point of contact, we can assist you through the entire approval process, and once you have registered your business with us, you can take your certificate away with you without further delay. Once it has its stamp on it, you are ready to go.

3. Easier funding

Your objective is to make a profit, but setting up your own business always requires investment before the money comes rolling in. We can offer advice on funding for all development phases, from start-up to stock market flotation.

4. A simpler way to train your staff

Looking to offer training opportunities? We have all the information you need to register as a training organisation, check applications and register your trainees.

5. Receive help with international questions

Our welcome service can advise you on residency permits, work permits and the recognition of international qualifications. We can assist with the recruitment of skilled staff and managers from abroad and help international start-ups to negotiate their way through the bureaucratic jungle.

6. Multilingual advice

Still unsure about conducting negotiations and making important decisions for your business in German? Our international team speaks English, Turkish and Russian, and our brochures and information material are available in several languages.

7. Information on work safety

Better safe than sorry – that is why environmental protection and occupational health and safety are firm fixtures of our advisory service.

8. Make the most of our contacts

In some cases, you may require more specialist advice, so take advantage of our close contacts with our network partners. We can put you in touch with the right person to answer questions regarding start-ups, subsidies and commercial real estate.

9. Easy to reach in the centre and the north of Bremen

Located in the centre of Bremen, we can be easily reached by bus, bike or car. Residents in the north of Bremen do not need to make their way to the city centre – we also provide advice in Stadthaus Vegesack in Bremen-Nord. Every Wednesday between 10am and 3pm, or by appointment, Agnes Knelangen, project manager and point of contact, offers advice on self-employment and registering or buying a business.
